Winter is the perfect time to pick up a new hobby, and Concord has so many opportunities to learn new skills and build community around your passions. This winter I have been obsessed with knitting, and found some great places in the city to build my skills and connect with other hobbyists. Read on for my tips on learning fiber arts in Concord, NH.

Located in the heart of downtown Concord, DIY Craft and Thrift is a hidden gem for fiber artists. This unique space not only offers affordable crafting materials but also hosts workshops. You’ll also see inspiring art pieces on display—including from Queerlective! When I first picked up knitting, the sales people in this store were incredibly helpful, offering simple tricks that helped me get started—even outside a workshop setting. Whether you’re a beginner looking for a guidance or an experienced crafter seeking some great deals on supplies, this is the place to go.
Kimball Jenkins
Kimball Jenkins is a hub for inspiration! They offer a wide range of classes in painting, ceramics, drawing and more. But check out their embroidery classes if you are looking to build your skills in fiber arts. Plus, Kimball Jenkins hosts a Friday night art hangout every week, where you can bring a project and connect with other creators.
