Recently, Concord added one more brand new venue right in the heart of historic downtown. This venue that features a hip, young vibe along with a touch of old Concord history! Welcome to the Newest Live Music Space in Concord, NH

Opened in 2019, The Bank of New Hampshire Stage's first performance featured Ed Balloon. About 150 people attended the show, and is now booked year-round with an exciting lineup of performances.

The building has come a long way from the formerly ruined structure that once housed a bakery and a movie theatre. Where there once hung strips of powder blue insulation, a new lighting tress circles the main floor. The thick dirt foundation has been replaced by a stage and retractable bleacher-seating that holds 260 music lovers. When the seating is retracted, the room can hold 400 people—the perfect format for a dance party!

The Concord Theatre was an essential part of the local community for decades before it closed in 1994. Its history is long, but it also holds the distinction of being the longest first-run independent theatre owned by a woman, Theresa Cantin, who bought out her business partner in 1947 and owned and operated the theatre for the next 47 years. During its years as a film emporium, the Concord showed just about every type of film from Academy Award-winning blockbusters to subtitled foreign films. Today, the Cap Center hopes to restore the theatre to its former place as one of the premier entertainment venues in the ever-changing landscape that is Concord, NH!

A New Lease on Life!

Thanks to the Capitol Center for the Arts and Concord, NH based developer Steve Duprey the Concord Theatre, has been reborn after nearly a quarter-century since the last movie flickered across the screen. The new space allows the Cap Center to schedule an estimated additional 150 events each year. The new Bank of New Hampshire stage caters to a younger audience, with a wide variety of performances and events. This state-of-the-art venue has added to Concord's growing reputation as a magnet for the performing and visual arts.
