Why is New Hampshire a safe place?

Today, many Americans are considering a move to smaller cities for various reasons. To many, the city of Concord, NH, could be a nice place to live: It is a smaller city with friendly neighborhoods, access to the outdoors and clean air. Concord boasts beautiful public parks and forests to bring the family to play and hike in. Downtown offers a variety of restaurants with outdoor dining on the thriving Main Street. And, Concord is the state capital - so it has a past.  In the mid 19th century, Concord was all about carriage building, as the Concord Coach became world famous. Concord’s population is 43,627.  But is it safe?

New Hampshire is one of the safest states in the country - with a low crime rates, well below the national average. In fact, New Hampshire has the 3rd lowest violent crime rate and the lowest property crime rate in the US.

As for COVID, New Hampshire has one of the nation’s lower infection rates, and the vaccination effort is going well. New Hampshire’s COVID preparedness meets international standards, meaning the state has remained relatively open.

Concord is also a major healthcare center with Concord Hospital being well rated for numerous procedures and specialties. Concord Hospital is one the city’s biggest employers, and beyond being a general medical and surgical facility- it is a teaching hospital. Its Medical Group has of 328 primary and specialty providers.
