Have you noticed how everyone knows everyone here in Concord? It’s definitely a benefit of a smaller city, but it’s also because there are so many ways to meet new people here!

Are you a recent transplant or have you been thinking about relocating to our fair city? Concord is home to countless groups, associations and clubs - but if you’re a professional looking to meet others in the area, you’re really in luck. Concord is home to some seriously effective professional development groups with networking opportunities galore.

Networking is beneficial to your business in so many ways – especially if you’re a freelancer, entrepreneur, or a one-person show. You’ll get to meet people to help your business out and establish crucial connections to boost your business when you need it.

Check out these groups with monthly or regular networking events and make sure you attend their next one, you never know who you’ll meet!

Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours:

There are Chambers of Commerce all over the country, but I like to think Concord’s is the most robust one in the area! They host events to keep you informed all year long and then also have monthly networking events called “Business After Hours” to connect their members. They’re hosted at different businesses every month, so it’s also a great chance to check out a new spot you may have never visited. Events are held the second Tuesday of every month from 5:30-7pm. Admission for members is $7 and includes drink tickets. Check out their website for details: www.concordnhchamber.com

Concord Young Professionals Network:

Don’t let the name fool you, this group is for everyone! Even if you wouldn’t consider yourself “young”, you’re welcome to attend an event and meet Concord’s amazingly engaged young professionals. These events are FREE and while CYPN is an initiative of the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce, you don’t need to be a chamber member to join in the fun. Same as Business After Hours, monthly networking events are held at different sites every month so check out their schedule and join the mailing list to get the details on next month’s event! Networking events are held on the Third Wednesday of every month from 5:30-7:30pm. Their website is: www.concordnhchamber.com/about-us/CYPN/

New Hampshire Young Veterans Network:

A fairly new non-profit, NHYVN is setting out to “connect young veterans transitioning from active service to peers and community business leaders.” This is a beneficial group not only for veterans and their family members, but also business owners who are looking to hire from this uniquely talented pool of potential employees! They host events all over the state but recently hosted one here in Concord and will certainly return so make sure you stay in touch with this group! Their website is: www.nhyvn.org

Elyssa Alfieri is a small business consultant, freelance stylist, social media maven, vintage lover, and all-around Concord super fan. You can usually find her at her consignment shop, Lilise Designer Resale (or LDR), right downtown. She also really wants you to know LDR is dog-friendly.
