Hatbox Theatre will be hosting workshops from Queen City Improv in the afternoon of September 25th. There will be two "Improv for Beginners" workshops. Times and availability TBD. 

There will also be three performances of the evocative play White Rabbit, Red Rabbit by Nassim Solemanpour. This work is shrouded in mystery. Actors and audiences are encouraged to *not* discuss or describe the work to others who have not attended. Audience members arrive, take their seats, and a lone actor (no director, no rehearsal) takes the stage, is handed a script, and both audience and actor embark on the discovery together. The plot cannot be described; not to be coy, but rather as it is a requirement of the license. Each performance will be presented by a different actor recruited by the production team. The actors are notable NH artists and their discovery will be experienced by the audience collectively.

The play is a work about the contemporary world from a generation born amidst the Iran-Iraq war - computer-literate, well-informed young people who have only known the Islamic Republic. Barred from leaving Iran because he refused to do military service, Solemanpur sent the play abroad hoping it would be performed. And it has. The work has been performed widely and in more than twenty languages. The 2016 Off-Broadway run lasted 42 weeks - each performance with a different actor. This included Nathan Lane, Whoopi Goldberg, Cynthia Nixon, Darren Criss, and Brian Stokes Mitchell, to name a few. White Rabbit, Red Rabbit will run at Hatbox Theatre September 10-26, with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2pm.
