Most artists in the greater Concord area know the Kimball Jenkins School of Art. For over 40 years, New Hampshire artists have taken classes, participated in programs, and engaged with the Concord community here.
I had the amazing opportunity to visit their current exhibition, the Sylvia Brofos Student Exhibition, which is on view until June 12th. This exhibition features the students of Kimball Jenkins and honors Sylvia Brofos, a watercolor artist who taught at Kimball Jenkins from 2002 until her sudden passing in 2024 (at the incredible age of 91!)
Although watercolor was Sylvia’s focus, the exhibition features works from all mediums. Artists of all ages were represented, from age 2 all the way to adult students. I’d recommend visitors check out the kid’s room—it’s impossible not to smile when viewing the creativity and excitement in their pieces.
